Fostering a Scholarly Network: The "Four Societies" Initiative
The CCIL, in association with the American Society of International Law (ASIL), the Australian and New Zealand Society of International Law (ANZSIL) and the Japanese Society of International Law (JSIL) participates in a regular "Four Societies" initiative involving new and emerging scholars from each of the four international law societies. Each two to three years, the four societies convene a conference at which these scholars assemble to present their research and exhange views. There have been three such events to date: New Zealand (2006); Canada (2008); and Japan (2010). The next event will be hosted by the ASIL in the United States, and information will be posted on this website in due course.
