Volunteering with the CCIL

CCIL has historically encouraged people to volunteer at the CCIL yearly conference.  Some volunteers have assisted generally with the event, and some students have participated as “rapporteurs” preparing reports on the individual sessions. Prior to the involvement of Intertask, CCIL also occasionally recruited and paid casual employees through  personal contacts or employment agencies.

However, various issues have been unclear in the past, notably what the CCIL expects the volunteers and rapporteurs to do, how casual employees are recruited, and the benefits that they receive for their participation.  This policy was developed to clarify the CCIL conference’s approach. Because there is a difference between the nature of the tasks for rapporteurs and volunteers generally, we deal with them separately.
