We at the Toronto Group are very excited to have researchers from around the world join us for this year’s 9th annual conference at Osgoode Hall Law School. Our keynote speakers are Catherine Marchi-Uhel, Ombudsperson to the UN Security Council, ISIL (Da’esh) and Al-Qaida Sanctions Committee and University of Toronto Faculty of Law’s Prof. Karen Knop. Please see here for this year’s schedule and do remember to registerto confirm your attendance.

This year’s Conference theme examines how transnational adjudication is one of many resources utilized by states, actors, and communities to resolve national and international disputes. Adjudication is often called upon to intervene into political and economic crisis by reconciling and resolving their underlying tensions. Such demands raise concerns about jurisdictional authority, enforcement, and struggles or conflicts that exist between countries, groups, and communities around the world.

We are very grateful for the support of our sponsors The Jack & Mae Nathanson Centre on Transnational Human Rights, Crime, and Security, The Canadian Council on International Law, the University of Toronto Faculty of Law, Osgoode Hall Law School at York University, the University of Toronto Graduate Law Society,  the York University Graduate Students Association, and the University of Toronto Graduate Students Union.
