Canadian National Rounds of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition

CCIL and Dentons LLP were delighted to host the judges of the 2017 Canadian Round of the Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition at a reception on Friday March 3. Over 40 lawyers gathered in Dentons' offices in the heart of Edmonton, Alberta for a convivial reception.

Welcomed by Jessup Canadian National Chair, David Quayat, University of Alberta Dean of the Faculty of Law, Paul Paton, Dentons Edmonton's leader of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution group, Lorena Harris, and Amanda Garay of the CCIL, this event presented an opportunity to introduce this year's conference theme and date. Canada at 150 was the subject of a number of interesting conversations over the course of the evening.

Law students from across Canada, their coaches, and the nearly sixty lawyers who volunteered to judge them spent several days immersed in international law. CCIL is pleased to to support international legal education in Canada through its continued involvement in the Jessup.
