The Canadian Council on International Law is pleased to be supporting the 2nd Annual International Humanitarian Law Conference at the University of Saskatchewan’s College of Law on the afternoon of October 27. The conference, which is being hosted by the College of Law and the Canadian Red Cross, will explore a number of issues regarding the implementation of the law of armed conflict. In addition to providing a substantive overview of the law of armed conflict, speakers will touch upon, among other things, the training of state armed forces, working with non-state actors, negotiating arms control treaties, and prosecuting suspected war criminals. The conference has been accredited by the Law Society of Saskatchewan for 3.5 Continuing Professional Development hours. More information can be found at www.redcross.ca/IHLYXE
