Registration is now open for the conference From Shock to Change: Rethinking Canada's Foreign Economic Policy, to be held from April 29 to May 1, 2026, at Université Laval (Quebec City, Canada).
The event is organized by the Graduate School of International Studies at Université Laval, in collaboration with Ministère des Relations internationales et de la Francophonie (MRIF).
Our Speakers at a Glance
Jean Charest (Former Deputy Prime Minister of Canada, former Premier of Quebec);
The Honourable Stéphane Dion (Former professor, Canadian politician, and diplomat);
Kim Thomassin (La Caisse);
Marie-Ève Jean (Investissement Québec International);
Julie White (Manufacturiers et Exportateurs du Québec);
Pierre Seïn Pyun (Bombardier);
Jean Simard (Aluminium Association of Canada);
Martin Caron (Union des producteurs agricoles);

as well as several other specialists and leaders from the economic, industrial, and institutional sectors.
Beyond the distinguished speakers, the conference is designed to foster meaningful connections. The program includes multiple networking opportunities, such as an opening reception, structured discussion breaks, and a banquet dinner.
The event is also structured around two complementary days: April 30 will feature in-depth analytical workshops, while May 1 will bring together industry leaders for sector-focused roundtables. By combining academic insight and practical perspectives, the conference offers a comprehensive strategic overview of today’s economic transformations.
Early-bird rate until April 1, 2026
All activities from April 29 to May 1, including the banquet dinner: $250 for general admission (taxes and fees not included); $80 for students (taxes and fees not included)
Participation without banquet dinner: $200 (taxes and fees not included)
Banquet dinner on April 30 only: $150 (taxes and fees not included)
Even if it is possible to attend only the April 30 banquet or the workshops and roundtables, full participation provides the most complete strategic and networking experience.
