At a time when global challenges demand increased cooperation, States continue to adopt unilateral economic measures, often in response to policies they themselves implement. This paradox raises a fundamental question: Should States be required to consider the equivalent measures of others in their own economic decisions?
This panel, composed of Marc-Antoine Couet, Victor Crochet, and Yannick Trudel, and moderated by Gabrielle Marceau, offers an in-depth discussion on:
The tensions between international cooperation and economic unilateralism;
The legal and strategic implications of equivalent measures; and
The possibility of an emerging obligation in international economic law.
This discussion will take place in French with simultaneous interpretation via Wordly. Don’t forget your smartphone and earphones!
